All pieces are made of faience, created in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean — Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal — and are identified by the Adolfo Mendonça Atelier® brand mark.

Being a delicate handmade work, small irregularities may occur. Each detail is created one by one and assembled, forming different compositions. There’s no two equal pieces, even those belonging to the same model. That’s where the magic happens!

Photographs and color samples are as accurate as possible.

Colors and color combinations presented may vary depending on the existing stock.

Are there other colors available?

At this point, the available colors of glazes vary depending on the existing stock. The website is regularly updated. Subscribe to the Newsletter to know firsthand all the new arrivals.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Are the ceramic pieces food safe?

Not all glazes are recommended for the purpose of serving food. So please, before placing an order, read carefully all the specifications for each piece where it’s described if it is suitable for serving food.

Can I take the pieces to the microwave?

It’s not recommended, the pieces are not prepared for that.

Can I take the pieces to the dishwasher?

Given the detail and the textures, it’s not recommended to take any kind of piece to the dishwasher.

PAYMENT METHODS

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay your order by Bank Transfer or MB Way. When opting for Bank Transfer, send proof of payment to info@adolfomendoncaatelier.com

After placing an order and paying by Bank Transfer, the customer has 48 hours to send proof of payment to info@adolfomendoncaatelier.com Otherwise, the order will be automatically canceled.

SHIPPING

Which countries do you ship to?

At the moment, shipments are made to Azores, Madeira, Mainland Portugal and Europe.

Which carrier?

All orders are sent by registered mail via CTT.

What are the shipping costs?

The shipping costs varies according to the weight of the package and delivery destination.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

Currently, all pieces are made by order, which means that there may be no stock available right away for delivery. Orders are only sent after proof of payment is received.

When the requested piece is in stock, delivery takes 7 to 15 days for Portugal and 15 to 30 days for Europe. If there is no stock, depending on the chosen piece and destination, the order will be delivered within 1 to 2 months.

⚠️ Important information! As I will be at FIA Lisboa, all orders placed online from June 26th will be shipped on July 15th.

How can I make a purchase?

Can I cancel my order?

If you have already received a confirmation email that your order has been shipped, it is not possible for us to cancel it.

What to do if my order arrives damaged or broken?

I’m very sorry if this happens, but if you happen to receive a damaged or broken piece, you have 2 days to report the situation after the delivery act. Send me a photo that shows the condition of the packaging and of the respective piece for the following email: info@adolfomendoncaatelier.com Until you get an answer, please keep the piece and it’s packaging.

Is it possible to make an exchange? What about a return?

Yes. You have 14 days to make an exchange or a return, as long as the products are presented in their original condition. If you wish to do so, please send an email to info@adolfomendoncaatelier.com

SPECIAL REQUESTS

I would like to offer a piece to someone special, how should I do it?

All pieces are packed with the utmost care and affection, always paying attention to details. If your purchase is a gift, specify it in the order act. If you want to add a special message, Adolfo would be happy to help.
